Should You Reset Quests in ARC Raiders Expedition 5?

Expedition 5 makes quest reset opt-in — here is the choice, what each side gives, and the Hullcracker catch.

Expeditions used to reset your quest progress automatically. The 5th Expedition (Sep 8–29, 2026) changes that: quest reset is now opt-in — you choose whether to keep your progress or replay the line. This page covers the choice, including the Hullcracker Blueprint implication.

Quick answer

If you want to keep your Blueprint access and current quest position, keep your progress — no action needed. If you want to replay the quest line as part of the expedition loop, choose reset instead. Neither is forced in Expedition 5.

The new Expedition 5 rule

Embark's official 5th Expedition announcement (August 21, 2026) confirms quest progress no longer resets automatically. Before the expedition finalizes, you decide: keep or reset your quest line.

Keep quest progress

  • Continue from where you left off — your quest line stays exactly as it is; no objectives are repeated.
  • Preserve Blueprint paths — the Hullcracker Blueprint is quest-only, so keeping progress keeps your current route to it.
  • Recommended for — players mid-line who do not want to redo objectives, and anyone thinking ahead to the pause: quests stay untouched while expeditions are paused either way.

Reset quest progress

  • Replay the quest line — the full quest experience from the start.
  • Recollect quest rewards — rewards tied to completing quest objectives again (verify current reward tables before assuming specific drops).
  • Recommended for — players who enjoy the line, want the completion loop, or are not at risk of losing Blueprint progress they need.

The Hullcracker Blueprint catch

The Hullcracker Blueprint is only obtainable through the quest line. Because Expedition 5 makes quest reset optional, choosing reset means re-earning your way back to it. Embark said an alternative acquisition method will be provided, but the method and timing were not published — until then, keep-progress is the safe side for Hullcracker. See Quest Blueprint Rewards.

Before you choose

  • Check your current quest position and which Blueprint rewards remain unreached.
  • Remember the pause: after Expedition 5, expeditions pause until early 2027 — quest progress is not reset during the pause.
  • Verify reward tables against the current version before planning a reset for specific loot.

Rule from the official 5th Expedition announcement. Keep or reset is your choice for this expedition; future expeditions may change after the 2027 redesign.

FAQ

FAQ

Common questions about this topic.

Do quests reset in ARC Raiders Expedition 5?

Only if you choose: quest reset is opt-in since the 5th Expedition (Sep 8–29, 2026). You can keep your progress and continue where you left off.

Should I keep or reset my quests?

Keep if you value Blueprint paths (Hullcracker) and do not want to repeat objectives; reset if you want the full replay and its rewards. Neither is forced.

What happens to my quests during the expedition pause?

Quests are not reset by the pause itself — expedition resets apply during expedition windows. After Expedition 5, expeditions pause until early 2027 and quest progress stays.

Does resetting quests affect the Hullcracker Blueprint?

Yes — Hullcracker is quest-only. Resetting means re-earning it through the line; Embark announced an alternative method will be provided, without details yet.
