Expedition Vault
What the vault protects during expeditions — and what is verified so far.
The Expedition Vault is the safe-deposit service tied to expeditions: it protects selected items and progress so they survive the expedition reset. In Expedition 5 the vault is run through Ermal, the Nomadic Envoy. This page lists what is officially confirmed — unverified slot counts are not invented.
What the vault does
- Protects items through an expedition — saved contents are not wiped when the expedition resets other progress.
- Works with Ermal — Ermal runs the vault alongside weekly rotating offers.
- Relevant to quest reset — since Expedition 5 makes quest reset opt-in, what you vault interacts with what you keep; see Quest Reset.
What stays safe
Official sources treat Blueprint and gear progress as carry-over territory: expeditions wipe listed systems (Caravans, and opt-in quests), while vaulted items and earned consecutive buffs are not part of the wipe. If a specific item type is not confirmed for vaulting, this page does not claim it is protected.

Vault vs. what resets
The vault protects what you choose to save; the expedition wipe removes what resets. The authoritative reset list is on What Resets?. Caravans reset after Expedition 5 (partially completed ones become Ermal Vouchers).
